Worcester Norton Shooting Club
Norton Barracks, Brockhill Lane
Norton, Worcester, WR5 2PP
We have a very full programme of Sunday morning club competitions (rifle and pistol) for members and these are extremely well supported. For more details on the events “calendar” click on the link at the bottom of this page. Although there are prizes, based on a members best 6 results over the year, these competitions are NOT staid affairs at all - far from it. They’re designed to be fun and the amount of banter has to be heard to be believed. So, whatever a shooters level of ability they’re more than welcome to take part and join in the fun.
Rifle and pistol competitions usually start at 10:00 on the Farrington range and the man who runs them is Bob Croxton, who has an “active imagination” when it comes to dreaming up courses of fire! Entry fee (which covers targets and so on) is usually a wallet busting £1.
In addition to all this there are “open” (to FAC holding visitors from other clubs with their own equipment as well as our members) Practical Shotgun and Mini-rifle matches available on the first Saturday of each month. They rotate - first Saturday in January mini rifle, first Saturday in February Practical Shotgun and so on. Entry fee for these competitions is just £5, for both members and visitors from other clubs.
